One man's view of veggie heads and other animal "lovers".

Dont Eat Plants!?

You know I always hear these self righteous animal lovers crying about people eating meat, and how cruel it is to kill animals for food. Now, I may agree not all farmers treat their animals well, but that doesn't mean they're all that way. And while some people who kill wildlife are scum who will slaughter anything for fun or profit, this doesn't mean all hunters are that way, as a matter of fact hunters and fishermen provide most of the money that supports wildlife conservation, and perform more volunteer work that actually helps restore nature's balance, while the so called animal rightists are busy crying about how we control nature's balance through intelligent, thought out hunting seasons, rules, and bag limits. They cry about letting nature control itself and how cruel hunting is. First of all a bullet or arrow that kills in seconds is not nearly so cruel as starvation due to overpopulation which is nature's control method. Or, how about a pack of carnivorous predators that chase an animal for hours until it's exhausted and then drag it down, ripping it apart and eating it before it's even dead. Oh yeah, thats really a lot less cruel than a bullet.

And what about the plants you veggies eat? The only reason you don't feel the same about them is because they don't have big sad eyes or a voice that you can here when they're in pain. If you stop to think, scientists have proven with electrical sensors that plants respond to the same stimuli as animals. Just because you can't tell it without a machine you figure it isn't as bad. You try to tell people that animals are people too. Well if that's the case then so are plants, they're just blind and mute people. So does that mean the people with disability laws should apply to them? Well now, what are you going to eat since you can't take advantage of someone with such a disability,(oops, I mean challenge, we must be politically correct mustn't we). Now, you want to talk about cruelty. Would you rip the wing off a chicken for supper, of course not. But, isnt that what you did to the lettuce in your garden yesterday when you savagely tore the leaves from its shuddering body. would you rip the fetus from a cow. Never, but that's exactly what you did to that poor tomatoe plant , and corn, and squash, cucumber, pepper, shall I go on. So, what's more cruel, a quick bullet or having your body ripped apart. And which is more fair hunting a creature who can see, smell and hear you, and possibly get away, or hunting a creature who couldn't run away even if it could see, or smell, or hear. So, you see, you're just as barbaric as I. You just don't have to look into the dead eye's of your prey and make your peace with it. When it comes down to it, it's not a matter of my being cruel, it's a matter of your lacking the courage to face yourself in your victim's eyes.

It all comes down to this. If you dont want to hunt that's your right, and that's fine with me. But, you have no right to try and stop me. After all you talk about nature and letting it take care of itself. Remember we're part of nature and hunting is a natural part of our nature. And god made us carnivorous too, just like the wolf or coyote.

As for as nature taking care of herself. The only way that can happen is if we abandon all our modern lifestyles and our cities and machines, and go back to nature ourselves. This includes our farms and gardens, which disrupt nature as much as anything through the destruction of natural habitat and the introduction of unnatural food sources which cause over population of some species to the detriment of others. This means you will have to for-go your cultivated food crops and go back to gathering while WE hunt. Because, no matter how much you want it, we've destroyed too much of mother earth for her to recover on her own, unless we give up the luxuries we've become so dependant on. Until then, you need to realize whether you like it or not, our hunting and conservation methods are the best and least cruel way of controlling wildlife populations.
